Put a track on the air
There is no upload form. The playlist is a folder in a Git repository, and a track gets in the way code does: an MP3, three lines of JSON, and a pull request. The full instructions and the same rules live in the repo at public/tracks/README.md; this is the short version.
How
- Encode it as an MP3, 320 kbps or lower, 12 MB or under.
- Name it
artist-title.mp3— lower case, hyphens, nothing buta-z 0-9 -. Put it inpublic/tracks/. - Add an entry to
public/tracks/playlist.json:{ "title": "I Speak In State", "artist": "Greyforge", "file": "greyforge-labs-i-speak-in-state.mp3" } - Open a pull request. The template asks you to tick the rules; tick them honestly.
npm testruns on the PR and holds the file to shape.
The rules
- Made with AISuno, Udio, a local model, your own rig. Any tool. Not a recording of a band.
- YoursYour prompt, your lyrics, your generations, your pick of the take. Nobody else's song, generated or not.
- Nothing copyrightedNo samples, covers, interpolations, borrowed lyrics, named-artist styles or cloned voices. You are responsible for what you send.
- No licenseNone attached, none accepted. Opening a PR dedicates the track to the public: anyone may play, download, copy, share and remix it, anywhere, forever, without asking or crediting you.
- Free to shareEvery file has a public address. That is how a radio station in a Git repo works.
- Label explicit
"explicit": truein the entry,[EXPLICIT]in the PR title. - About the workCode, machines, terminals, the desk, the forge, the long night. Take any corner of it.
- Nothing hatefulAnd nothing aimed at a real person. Written down so it is a rule and not an opinion.
Not everything gets in
Greyforge decides what plays. Passing the rules gets a track considered, not accepted. Whether it goes on the air comes down to taste — Greyforge's — with no rubric, no scoring sheet and no appeal. The bar is loose: the point of the station is more songs, and a rough one with an idea in it beats a polished one with nothing. Do not sit on a track wondering if it is good enough. Send it.
Profanity is frowned upon, not banned. A song that needs it can have it, labelled. A song that is mostly it probably will not get in.
A closed pull request is not a verdict on you. It is a radio station with a mood. Anything can be declined, and anything already playing can be removed, at any time, for any reason or none, without a process. Tracks are served as submitted; Greyforge makes no claim about them and takes them down on any credible rights complaint.
